Project India
Packing up and leaving our old building and moving into a new, state of the art facility reminded us how lucky we are. What a fantastic opportunity for the young people of Oak Wood School to be educated in an amazing building with the best ICT, sports and learning facilities available. It also got us thinking about the equipment and resources that we would be leaving behind...
We donated surplus ICT, furniture and other resources, such as books, to a school in India. This is the Kokri Kalan Government Senior Secondary School in Dist-Moga, Punjab, India. In the village there are three schools; a single sex secondary schools for boys/ girls and a community funded primary school. These three schools provide education for the five surrounding villages. This could change the life chances for these young people significantly and also give Oak Wood the opportunity for develop a long term relationship to benefit members of both community.
