Design Technology is a forward thinking department. The new Design Technology specification  focuses on new technology, innovative design and renewable energy.

In KS3 they focus practical skills building in  resistant materials, electronics and food technology.   They  complete  a series of projects that test various skills such as organisation, creativity and problem solving. 

In KS4, they focus on theoretical learning of  the  design technology industry. Topics  include,  sustainability, energy conversion, the design process, graphical products and textile manufacturing. The GCSE course is made up of  50%  controlled assessment and 50% exam. The variety of specialisms studied is essential for progressive career development and interactive learning.
