Department Overview

The art department at Oak Wood School is a place where creativity thrives. The energy and enthusiasm of the students is clear through the vast array of work produced which demonstrates the high level of skill achieved by many.

Key Stage 3

KS3 introduces students to the key skills required for effective artistic practice. Students explore and develop their abilities in a range of artistic media and are introduced to the work of a range of other artists. It is here the foundations are laid for future progression.

Key Stage 4 & 5

At KS4&5 students are encouraged to be much more independent. Within given themes, they have the opportunity to independently explore and develop their own ideas, building upon the skills developed at KS3. The result is an exciting range of vibrant and expressive works which showcase the talents of many Oak Wood Students.
