Oak Wood School

Welcome to Oak Wood School

Oak Wood is a vibrant, aspirational community where students are encouraged to push the boundaries on what they think they can achieve. This guiding principle stems from our core ethos - “We Dream, We Learn, We Grow” – which propels us constantly to advocate that students are not limited in their choices.

It goes without saying that we want every student who joins us to develop into a successful young adult, but we also want to empower them to determine what success looks like for themselves. What is right for one is not necessarily right for another, and it is important that your child has the chance to forge their own pathway, both while they are with us and beyond.

Our role as educators is not to determine what any individual seeks to achieve, but simply to ensure they have the resources and guidance needed to fulfil their potential. To this end we offer a supportive but disciplined environment because our experience shows that this creates the conditions that they need to flourish.

Our ethos is reflected in the rich and broad curriculum because it provides students with a platform to experience a number of different options. From traditional academic subjects through to vocational specialities, the resources at our disposal facilitate a greater depth of opportunity than can be found elsewhere.

This is a fantastic time to join Oak Wood because we have recently moved into a brand new building. We can now provide students with an experience enriched by cutting-edge sporting, creative and technological facilities, but also with a contemporary learning environment, the combination of which has already positively impacted students’ pride, commitment and attainment.

Life at Oak Wood does not stop at 16 as our commitment to academic success continues into our Sixth Form where students benefit from a wide range of courses for both academic and vocational education, an experienced and dedicated tutor team, careers advisors and full support through the university/apprenticeship application process.

Staff, parents and students are all part of what makes this school unique because they live and breathe the school’s ethos on a daily basis. I would encourage you to come and see for yourself why Oak Wood is the right place for your son or daughter to continue their education.
